Best in Show -
The Best in Show series includes very limited quantities of remarkable wines from prestigious vineyards. The first release in this series is an exceptional 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon and limited to fewer then 100 cases. The labels feature champion breeds from international dog shows such as, Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and Crufts Dog Show. This inagural release — in a spectacular new package — features a full-body drawing of a German Shorthaired Pointer. Due to the limited production of this wine, no discounts cannot be applied.
Label Art -
This first release in our Best in Show Series is an original illustration by Jay P. Snellgrove. The German Shorthaired Pointer represents the Champion Breed that won the Best in Show title at the Westminster Dog Show in 2005 and in 1974. Find out more about America’s second oldest sporting event at www.westminsterkennelclub.org. See the Art Gallery for limited hand signed and numbered giclee print reproductions of the original artwork, available for sale to art collectors and dog lovers alike.
The Causes -
A portion of our sales revenue on all wines, art, and merchandise is split equally between Canine Companions For Independence and the Morris Animal Foundation's Cure Canine Cancer Campaign.
We also make additional donations on selected wines to great causes such as the Alie Foundation and the Colorado Greyhound Adoption in order to provide both awareness and funding.

This is a magnificent wine. Seriously, trust me on this one. Our very first “Best in Show” offering is made from the very rare Jackson Selection of Cabernet Sauvignon. The original cuttings of this clone came from pre-phylloxera vines planted in a UC Davis research station in 1889. The station was abandoned at the turn of the century and only rediscovered, quite wild and overgrown, some 60 years later. Incredibly, some vines had survived the half-century of neglect and cuttings were taken and propagated. This is not your typical Cabernet vine. The berries are tiny, tiny, tiny, like large blueberries – great for making extremely concentrated, age-worthy wine but not so great for grape yield and wine volume, which is a major reason why only a handful of Jackson Selection vineyards exist in the world today. The semi-feral nature of the heritage of this Cabernet selection rings true in its intense wild berry aromas and flavors, balanced by dark chocolate, cinnamon bark and just a hint of mint. The tannin and acid provide structure to the wine and attest to its age-ability. I’ve had the pleasure of working with this particular west Dry Creek Valley vineyard for 10 years and I’ve witnessed firsthand how magnificently wines from this block age. A mere four barrels of this wine was produced, so get it before it’s gone. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 100% Dry Creek Valley Alc. = 14.4% 97 Cases produced Tony Wasowicz, Winemaker, April 2008
