Chica's Story!
"Chica", a 7-month-old shelter dog illustrated on the label, has a very special story.
She came last year via a circuitous route.
A 4 month-old puppy at the time, she belonged
to a family on South Dakota’s Rosebud Indian
reservation. The family brought her to a visiting
mobile spay/neuter clinic and left her there.
A Nebraska rescue group facilitated Chica’s trip to
the Dumb Friends League. From there, she went
to live with a Colorado resident and his dog
Noah. Now going on two years old she is a happy,
energetic pooch who is safe and secure in a loving home.

can change the life of a Loyal Companion in need of a friend.

About The Loyal Companion (TLC) Wines
The evolution of this program began about 2 years ago. Our aim was to produce wines in the $12 range whose quality far exceeded the price point. We wanted to create the finest possible blend and to that end did not want to be constrained by vintage...thus the use of lot numbers. We also wanted to have the flexibility to use small lots of high end wines from some of our special winery friends with hidden gems in the cellar. These wines are indeed hand crafted by our team and we hope you will enjoy them and share with friends & family. “Pour It Forward” !
TLC Red Blend Lots 2 - The Red Blend has 4 excellent varietals: SYRAH, CABERNET, MALBEC, & ZINFANDEL. We are thrilled with this combination which happened quite by accident. We had 20 barrels of a single vineyard ‘07 Cabernet we made that we were saving for a future Portrait Series. We also had some ‘06 Malbec that was waiting to find a home. A high end Zin producer friend of ours had 10 barrels of their ‘07 that was in excess of their production target that we were able to secure at a fraction of the cost. Add to these some very expensive Dry Creek Valley Syrah from another friend and you have a fantastic blend. And others think so as well! This blend is the Wine Enthusiasts "Best Buy" and a Gold Medal Winner from the San Francisco Wine Competition!
TLC Chardonnay Lots 2 - You won’t find Chardonnay of this quality for $12, PERIOD! Included in the blends is some ‘06 we made and aged in new French oak. We also have added Chard that saw no oak at all to provide great acidity and clean fruit.
Several vintages are in play including ‘08. & ‘09. We also found a special lot from a friend of
ours to round out the finished products.
These are special wines we know you will enjoy and would challenge you to blind taste against wines in the $20-$30 range.
